My captain is amazing. He is smart & talented & ambidextrious by way of his interests (having NOTHING to do with his right or left handedness). His interests are diverse and NUMEROUS. Most impressive of all is that anything he is genuinely interested in, he knows quite a bit about. IF he has any interest at all in something, he then wants to know more about it, to decide if he wants to know even more. And sometimes he knows more than the PERSON who knows about something- even when that person actually teaches about it. He once ended up teaching a class he hadn't even finished yet!(?) Just to name a few (that I at least know enough to know that he really knows what he says he knows) ..... weather, log rhythms, ceiling fans, aerodynamics, auto mechanics, lighthouses, ocean currents, running cable, hot water heaters, romance, sprinkler systems, electronics, geography, SONY, antique pianos, motions sensors, mai tais, GPS', hiking, computers, nike shoes, Harley Davidson, kitty kats, military aircraft, making cookies (yum), electrical wiring, noses, Hawaii, sunsets, microwaves (not the cooking kind), trouble shooting, hard rock, barbecuing, Baywatch, plumbing, tshirt necks (please don't ask). By this time next month (well maybe in a couple months) he will be adding geology, nuclear energy, botany, voluntary, police reserve & docenting.
Above & beyond anything & everything else ... he knows ME. What worries me, what pushes my buttons & what makes me happy (him). Considering I am not particularly intellegent (although "full" of common sense) - one might wonder what we talk about?!
